So you've been supporting spurs for 60 years!! and this is your first post on the forum.
Not only have you posted in the wrong place, after 60 years your brain had become muddled. Martin Jol is the best manager/coach weve had at this club for years, managers before him have also had money to spend, yet havn't achived anywhere near what martin has.
I would't trust you with money to buy a pint of milk, you'd probably end up buying incontanace pants.
Are you a gooner or just suffering from grumpy old man syndrome.

How long are we going to tolerate so called spurs fans...(supposedly) writing this filth about our manager?? the best manager we have had in a long time.. and your saying that we could possibly get relegated?? what drugs are you on??
How can you make such an assumption after one game? and you have been a fan for 60 years?? ive been a fan for over 25 years, and i wouldnt write such filth unless it was totally justified, which i dont think you are.

Mind you, this is not the place to have less than a rosy opinion on the club, the players and especially the gaffer.

If your thread has the slightest hint of negativity, you get axed by the "real" spurs fans in here.

I have tried that and I don't anymore.

Instead I discuss football in forums where difference of opinion is accepted.

That doesn't make less of a spurs fan, I think.

I can understand the frustration after an inept peformance, but to demand another manager after the first game of the season is a bit extreme.

You guys only post on this site when we have a bad result. Your posts are always negative and when things go well for us, you disappear.

Just because some on here we are not as fickle as you, you don't like it.

You're opinion is that BMJ is not up to it. Mine is that until he has had a bad season he is.

So far he has improved us every season, so I refuse to panic after just one bad performance.

absolute rubbish, take the time to read through some of the threads on here, yuo'll see plenty of debate and argument and differrence of opinion sometimes heated,
i will suggest that you dont like opinion that you dont agree with thats why you dont come on here, the only reason you've come on here now is because of the bad opening result today and your looking to express your "negativity" on to this board and your suprised by the level of support for the club,
go back to your other forums, maybe we'll meet on one of them as i like you use others.
p.s. i would not now what would make you more or less of a spurs fan, you either support them or you dont, the choice is yours.

I can sympathise with you there mate - some are very quick to jump down your throat on here rather than enter into a reasoned debate (I dared to suggest that selling Mido over Defoe was a mistake).

However, I do not agree with 'donthedreamer' in the slightest. Martin Jol is the best thing to happen to Spurs since we won the FA Cup in 1991 and he has improved with every season...

2004-05: 35 Games 15 (43%)
2005-06: 40 Games 18 Wins (45%)
2006-07: 59 Games 31 Wins (53%)

I have faith in the big man that this excellent record will continue, starting with three points against Everton. And, as long as we don't drop out of the top six/seven, I think we should keep him - that top 4 is just waiting for us to break it if not this year than next. The man is a legend and you are being too hasty.

Your opinion has been noted. See you back here in May '08, when MJ has the 4th spot secure. Nobody claimed we were gonna win 38 games this year, and our closest rivals (aka the scum) are currently losing to Fulham.

Don't you think you're being a bit dramatic callng for his head after one game? In your world half the Premiership managers would be jobless after the first game...
Wins against Everton and Derby and will you be asking for the man to be knighted?

I love Martin Jol, Martin Jol loves me

Dont even start with the jol out stuff, I was probably one in 5 who didnt want him out on 10h feb 2007 after sheff utd defeat where we were mid table and over 10 points from UEFA cup spot and look what happened afterwards!!

Yes he's always going to be judged but not one game. the first window is before international break where we would have played 5 games. I set targets of what we should get etc and I say minimum of 7 points and that included sunderland of course.

hence it really should be 6 points from the 2 home games and then lose at man u and draw at fulham. Remember 7 is a MINIMUM. Reality I would have hoped for 10 i.e. say draw/win from sunderland and fulham games.

that can be still done if we can draw at old trafford, we did that twice in row reacently and if Reading can why cant we. However if were not on 7 points on september 2nd then I will worry. Of course after that it's scum at home and yes win that and all will be forgotten but only draw hence max of 7 points after that then I will have to re-think have we got the right manager.

Sorry to go on I personally reckon we'll be fine in those games mentioned.

the sooner you put it in your head the better for the team...
Mr.Jeanious is not the coach for big things.
1.Did the team make any friendly game with a serious team?( don't tell me
Torino ????)
2.Did we buy any player over the age of 15? or anyone ready to fight for the
team? -DYER f.e. in the midfield was worse than the anonymous that MJ brought?
3.Is there any defense in this team? because after 3 years of expectations
4 goals in the first two games , sorry but it's a little bit heavy for my stomach. Not to mention again that after all those transfers of young and
hopefull subbuteo players we stayed with stalteri and lee....!!!!!
Maybe you say that it's only a bad begining..but the real well prepared teams
show their teeth from the begining , and we don't seem to be something like that.
MJ has arrived his limit up , but the team is reaching its limit down...
To make a step further means at least 2 good transfers( a playmaker and
a defender ready to help) and of course a new coach.
Sorry if i'm disappointing you,but the truth hearts and the sooner you face it
the better for the team.

Why pretend everything is fine when it isn't and that it will be when no one knows what's going to happen. It's fair to say the next 2 games are the easiest and hardest of the season. Derby at home, Man u away, slight difference. Anything but 3 points would be interesting. After that it's two london derbies and we must win and draw those games (preferablly at least draw ful and beat scum). If not then serious ?'s must be asked about manager and players.

I know others are injured but Rocha and Gardner at centre back is just bad.
Stalteri on left is a joke and chimonda is obviously ok.

Midfield - Jenas cant do anything right at moment, No one on left so we might aswell have 0 men, Malbranque is on par so far and so is Zokora but I do expect a bit more from Zok. Upfront it doesn't matter who you have if the rest behind are poor. All I say hurry hurry up and get fit to Daw,King,Kaboul,Bale,Lee,Lennon and transfer market for left winger.

I got told off for telling people to shut up. Despite the fact I totally agree with the sentiment.

And I will add that these "SO CALLED" fans are too narrow minded. Right now whatever the results, we need stabililty primarily in the managerial dept. Keep chopping and changing managers like we have over the last 20 years we just end up going backwards, winning nothing.

The funny thing is everyone is having a go because MJ has shown we are actually good team. 2 bad results is not a disaster.

As for slagging off the team will that really help boost the morale for games to come.

KEEP THE FAITH

agree with you here.....we probably had at least 3 or 4 bad results last year (sheff utd away, everton home, newcastle home, wigan & reading away etc) i think it's the fact that two bad results have come in the first two games of the season....people think we'll play like this for the rest of the season and so are calling for Jol's head.....mugs

He comes on here only after a couple of bad games and demands MJ's head. He is very consistent. When we do well he disappears again. So hopefully after Saturday we won't hear from him again.

I'm always standing by my expectations of at least 7 points from 1st five games with option of recovery with 6th game, the SCUM.

That now looks quite unlikely i.e. win, draw, win next 3. If not I would accept say 4/5 points and then beat scum. If we draw with scum ?'s must be asked if we lose then to scum then yeah I think Jol may have to go.

Go get some midfielders LEFT LEFT and this will help us get some points.

After scum we have 3 away games out of 4, Bolton,Liverpool and Newcastle and we aint had the best of records at those places recently. In fact 0 points from last 2 seasons.

it's natural to criticize the bad things and not the good ones.
today i'll tell something else about your beloved mj.
have you ever thought why all these injuries at the beginning of the season?
maybe the preparation in africa wasn't good( or the last year's with the
bikes on the mountains) and that's the reason why half of the team(except
Lennon) is out due to injuries?
our team is one of the reachest.Mido left, but thre are still lee, stalteri ,murphy
malbranque even gardner ,all players who cannot help the team go further.
i repeat again why can't we buy 2 good players ( with games on their feet
in good leagues) instead og taking 5-6 players with no potenciality.
the team needs the best and no the mediocre ones.

No one will write against you if you didn't write rubbish everytime.
Your views this time may have some credability, but I can't see how the injuries we have at the moment can be linked to the pre-season tour of South Africa. Most of the injuries were before S.A. and the ones recently, Kaboul,Bebatov, Dawson, could happen anytime. You ask why we can't buy 2 good players, Imho, Kaboul, K.P-B, Bale, Taarabat, Bent, are all good players, so who are the 5-6 players we bought with no potential ? We all realise we need a left sided midfield player, and MJ, I'm sure, is doing his best to get one. Nice to know you love us all and that you read all the posts.

who let you out of the cupboard.!!! that was nonsense gobledegook.. malbranque is a quality player. one question for you . do you get to watch many games at home? or are you a settee supporter? in all honesty peris i'd rather things as they were, bmj should be allowed to make mistakes as he's an inexperienced manager. i have faith in the players he's bought, and i'm mighty pleased he has,nt overlooked young english players. to hell with what the press say about him at the moment, he's building for the future and success should be measured when he's got a settled side and given time. we can all express our opinions about certain players but the players you've written off, did'nt do bad for us last season. i for one have a problem with jenas, his attitude is terrible at times, but he does prove me wrong from time to time. remember peris some of the finest coaches have come from holland and their coaching is superb. give martin time and we'll see the best of him.

That's because he probably sits in the East Lower directly behind one of the two pillars with his golden retriever and white stick.;)

But i do have a question for everyone though:

With all this rubbish being spouted about BMJ, if the worst came to the worst, who would you rather see go first?

Martin Jol?

or

Daniel Levy?

As they are both responsible in equal measures for our recent upturn in good fortune.

Reason being, is due to todays News of The World saying about the unrest between the two. But not without it's worth of salt from Comolli.

I know not to believe everything that's said in the media, but as they say: there's no smoke without fire.

It also said that if comolli and jol came to blows, then levy would side with comolli??

is daniel levy blind or just plain stupid??
does he not hear the fans shout to Mj during a game, or is he too busy inside his executive suite, plotting with comolli how they are going to get rid of our best manager we've had in years??

in all my times at the lane, i have never heard fans cheering levy??
martin jol has more chants than any other premier league club manager.. does that just bypass levy's ears or what?
The fans love Mj as do the players, the respect he has is evident!

I think its time the fans had their say, and at the arse game, we should call for comolli to leave the club rather than BMJ!

MARTIN JOL'S BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!!!!

In response to Keanosmissus:

I have to say that I fully agree with your sentiments, I have been following our beloved Spurs home and away since 1992, and i have to say that BMJ is an absolute godsend. Both as a Manager and even more so with his interactive relations with the fans and the players.

It's almost as though he treats the fans as equally as the players. As he's always stating that we're the 12th man. And we also know that it's a statement that he genuinely means rather than a media driven cliche' as used by other managers.

Regarding Comolli, when was the last time he made any statement or said anything that was meaningful? even more so, where's Commolli's page in the matchday programme just like Arnesen had?

As much as we despise Arnesen for going off sharpishly where the quick buck was to be made, you have to give him some sort of credit for at least having the boll*cks to say sorry to BMJ for leaving.

Can you imagine Comolli being as graceful?

Also, The News of The World has said that Paul Kemsley is also in with Comolli in talking with the unwanted Seville boss.

Anyone who watched The Apprentice will have noticed that Kemsley doesn't seem that brightest light in the house, and is too defensive and rude to people who have the guts to fire back at him.

So, with that, in the spirit of the Apprentice i have to say:

Damien Comolli... And Paul Kemsley... I'm not in the slightest bit sorry to say.... You're BOTH BLOODY FIRED!!!

MARTIN DON'T LET THE BUGGERS DRIVE YOU DOWN AND OUT WE LOVE YOU 100%+++++

I'm in Spain at the moment and it's been all over the papers for the last week. Also saw him and Drenthe in a pre-season friendly that Madrid lost 1-0- because crazy-legs Dudek was in goal

if you read this while out in spain plumhead, is it true spurs are looking to do a deal on guti? seems strange as he's 31.. 5milion pounds... rather have matt taylor anyday.. have a good one..:)

to call the God that is Martin Jol sub standard is criminal! everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is a load of rubbish!

Martin jol is God and if he is sacked because of the opinions of the minority i shall loose my faith in our club!

also u cant even spell his name right!

 How long are we going to tolerate a sub standard manager.........who has little if any idea in spite of having seemingly limitless amounts of money to spend about the the tactics or finer points of the game................I am not saying this after a unexpected loss of the first game of what was supposed to be a bumper season for us . Mark my words , fourth place poppycock.......relegation .......possble.........this man has got to go............so we finished fifth for two seasons in succession........I could have done the same thing given his spending power he had..................he lost games that were there for the winning simply because of idiot substitutions.......SIXTEEN MILLION ON A STRIKE WHEN WE NEED A LEFT FOOTED LEFT SIDED PLAYER LIKE WE NEED OUR LUNGS.....lets make a team of midfield players..............we have enough of them.........mind you........we still wouldnt have a decent midfield ...........I could go on and on but after sixty years supporting this club.........IKNOW................WHATS THE FUCKING USE

DOES MARTIN JOL SIGN THE PLAYERS. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, NO. DOES COMOLLI OUR SPORTING DIRECTOR. YES

IT SOUNDS LIKE UR AN OLD FART. WHO DOESN'T KNOW WOT HIS TALKIN ABOUT !

Amazing how things turn out

I stand by every comment I have ever made on an MJ related thread.
